The medical staff at Mercy Hospital Anderson is again helping local high school students pursue their dream of a career in healthcare. The annual Mercy Anderson Physicians Charitable Foundation (PCF) Scholarships were recently awarded to nine deserving area high school seniors as they prepare to attend college this fall.
Each of the students received a $2,000 scholarship to use toward their education. Criteria for the scholarship include interest in a career in healthcare, exceptional academic performance, community service, and participation in extracurricular activities. Children of Mercy employees also receive special consideration.
“We are proud to again recognize and support some of the top high school students from the area and help them in their pursuit of a career in healthcare,” said Stephen Feagins, MD, vice president of medical affairs at Mercy Hospital Anderson. “I know how meaningful and rewarding a career in healthcare can be, so it’s great to see bright young students interested in becoming our nurses, physicians, physical therapists and caregivers of the future.”
